Bio
Dr. Monte Layton was born and raised in Alberta, Canada. His experience with chiropractic first began as a chiropractic patient himself, when as a teenager, he suffered a severe back injury. After a trip to the emergency room and other visits with specialists, he was finally taken to a Doctor of Chiropractic who was able to accurately diagnose and treat his injury. By the age of 16, he had his career sights set on chiropractic. He has been in practice in Salt Lake City, Utah since 1997.
Dr. Layton is married and has four wonderful children with who he spends most of his free time. Waterskiing, snow skiing, hiking, biking, golf, and many other sports are favorite activities of the Layton family.
Education
Dr. Layton is a graduate of Parker University in Dallas, Texas, where he received his Bachelor of Anatomy and Doctorate degrees. He has advanced training in spinal diagnosis and treatment. He specializes in sports rehabilitation, including muscular stabilization of the spine, hips, knees, and ankles.
Experience
Since 1997, Dr. Layton has worked extensively with all professional and college sporting teams here in Salt Lake. He serves as the team chiropractor for the Real Salt Lake, University of Utah football team, Real Monarchs, and Utah Royals. Dr. Layton has spent years working with the Utah Jazz, US Ski Team, and US Bobsled team. He has provided care for many other individual athletes part of the PGA, NBA, and MLB. He was the official chiropractor for the former Utah Blaze and Utah Starzz teams.
Dr. Layton was a member of the 2002 Olympic Team Medical Staff. One of his career highlights was marching in the Opening and Closing Ceremonies alongside all of the Olympic athletes.
